Who He Is

From Dhaka to the world's great festivals.

Arifur Rahman is a filmmaker based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, working as a writer, director, producer and film educator. Through his work he aims to create a positive social impact by telling compelling stories that explore human relationships, society and the natural world.

He graduated from the producing program at the Busan Asian Film School in 2019, and has since become one of Bangladesh's most internationally active producers — a bridge between local stories and global audiences.

Arifur teaches film direction and producing at the Department of Television, Film and Photography at the University of Dhaka, mentoring the next generation of Bangladeshi storytellers.

He frequently speaks at international forums and conducts workshops around the world, using filmmaking as a tool for communication, knowledge sharing and social engagement — from festival panels to grassroots screenings.
